UK alt-pop band and versatile creative duo LARRY PINK THE HUMAN share their new single “BISOUSxxx”, which is taken from M1XTAPE, their debut collection of tracks that will be released 17 September.
LARRY PINK THE HUMAN comprises of vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Laurie Vincent and super-producer and songwriter Jolyon Thomas.
The duo is garnering a reputation for keeping their listeners on their toes. Between the hyperactive power-pop of the recent single “ELEVEN11_GTR_SONG,” and the undulating synths of “NO WRONG NO RIGHT,” Laurie and Jolyon are cultivating a setlist that expresses the full spectrum of the human condition.
Despite the minimalism that “BISOUSxxx” exhibits on its surface, the song is one of contradictions; raw yet crisply digitalized, confessional yet expansive, wistful but never morose.
In France, the term ‘Bisous’ is typically used when parting with someone that you are fond of, and LPTH has articulated this sentiment with stark accuracy through this new release.
“BISOUSxxx is growth,” the band say on the single. “Change is a constant, it’s unavoidable, this song is rebirth, death of an old self, it’s grief, it’s joy, it’s pain, it’s acceptance, it’s one foot in a new direction, it’s moving forward while trying to be present, it’s sitting in discomfort, it’s awakening, it’s love, it’s beyond words.”
Visual artist, photographer, and clothing designer Laurie has exhibited his work across the UK and collaborated with the likes of Lazy Oaf, Cheap Monday and Adidas.
As one-half of punk duo Slaves, Laurie has collaborated with the likes of Gorillaz, Skepta and Slowthai.
Jolyon has contributed production to Kendrick Lamar’s Damn LP, as well as working with U2, M83 and Royal Blood. He is also a member of the video production collective Youth Hymns, with whom he has worked on videos for the likes of Snoop Dogg, Nike, Wolf Alice and ALMA.
More than just a band, LARRY PINK THE HUMAN is an ideal; an outlet through which both Laurie and Jolyon can explore their creativity and collaborative relationship without genre confines, intertwining their various passions along the way.
