The K’s have released their highly anticipated debut album I Wonder If The World Knows? The band also released previously unheard track Lights Go Down.

Lights Go Down is a track that lets The K’s Jamie Boyle’s vocals soar. Speaking of the track, Jamie said, “Lights Go Down is my favourite song I’ve ever written. The lyrics allude to the fact that even though we are living our dreams on and off the stage, we will always love returning to the normality of our families and friends in our hometown in between all the madness. Touring and playing live is our favourite thing in the world but there’s no escaping the fact that there is no place like home.”

The track is the most emotive release from the I Wonder If The World Knows? album yet.

Explaining the themes of the album, Jamie said, “I Wonder If The World Knows? is a diary of my life for the last few years. I have always been brutally honest in my lyrics and write true to myself and my feelings. The best way to describe the general lyrical content of the album is that it is a constant battle of trying to work out what scares me more – the fact that we might never reach the goals we’ve always dreamed of or arguably scarier, what might happen if we do!”

The band were recently nominated for Breakthrough Act Of The Year at the Nordoff & Robbins Northern Music Awards, where they will also be performing at the awards on the 23rd April in Manchester.

With some of their largest shows to date coming up, the band are excited to finally be showcasing the album in the place they appear most comfortable – on stage. Jamie continued, “The diversity in our songs is what we truly believe sets us apart from other bands out there. We can take the roof off a venue with upbeat, energy driven bangers such as ‘No Place Like Home’ and a moment later switch to ‘Lights Go Down’ with vocals and melodies that can hold their own with the best of ballads. We spent years honing our craft and finding exactly the sound we wanted for our first album. We have created everything we wanted to and more with this debut album and we can’t wait for the world to hear it.”
