The Workhouse Lass is a heartbreakingly beautiful novel. It’s exceptionally well-researched, and it is clear to see it was very much a passion project for the author. Lissie is a complex, vulnerable character who you can very easily connect with and draw into her story.
If you enjoy historical fiction, this a novel you will thoroughly enjoy.
