The King of Ashes is the Fourth book of The Seven Gates, a short, high-heat dark paranormal romance series of obsession, power, and lethal devotion, featuring explicit MM and MMF dynamics, from author Rae Devine.

Ruinous. Obsessive. Inescapable.

Power sharpens at the Gates.

Bella Blackwood rules beside two men who understand her darkness. Samir – ancient and merciless. Lucien – brilliant and dangerously devoted.

Demitri remembers when he stood at Hell’s centre beside Lucien.

He does not envy Bella’s bed.
He envies her power.
The way she strengthens Samir.
The access Lucien earns at her side.

In Hell, access is currency.

And Demitri intends to take it.

When envy fractures the fragile hierarchy of the underworld, devotion turns volatile. Alliances blur. Desire becomes weaponised. Demitri’s attempt to sever Lucien from the Queen of the Gates threatens to ignite something far more dangerous than rivalry.

Bella does not plead.
She does not retreat.
She decides who burns.

The King of Ashes is another jam packed read from the queen of bringing the heat, Rae Devine. These book maybe short but they have tantalising heat and spice while still having a fantastic plot that grows as the series continues. One of my favourite things about this entire series is Bella’s evolution it is one of most indepth and most pleasing examples of character growth I have seen in a story in awhile.

If you enjoy dark paranormal romance than definetly check out this book and the entire series, but also heed the trigger warnings if you need to.
