Finn Forster Turns A Break-Up Into An Anthem On ‘Blame It On You’

Finn Forster is back with new single Blame It On You, and while the song may have been inspired by the end of a relationship, don’t expect a sad break-up ballad.

Instead, Finn wanted to write about everything that comes afterwards – the blame, accepting your own part in what happened and eventually learning from it – while making something you’ll want to turn up loud.

“Blame It On You is a song that follows the breakdown of a relationship I had,” Finn explains. “Moving through blame and accountability. I wanted to tell a raw and honest story but not through the style of a traditional sad break up song. It’s cool, hooky and anthemic and meant to be played loud.”

The new track follows Strangers, which arrived in May and picked up support across BBC Radio 1, Radio 2 and Radio X, including its first Radio 1 play from Jack Saunders and a Radio 1 Introducing Track Of The Week.

Finn has barely stopped since.

This summer has taken the Teesside singer-songwriter to TRNSMT, Boardmasters and the Isle of Wight Festival, following his biggest headline tour so far earlier in the year. That run included shows in Glasgow, York and Manchester before finishing with a London date at Colours Hoxton.

And October means another tour.

This time Finn will join New York rocker Des Rocs for his UK and European dates, beginning at Manchester’s Gorilla on 10 October.

They’ll head to The Garage in London the following night before travelling through Hamburg, Berlin, Amsterdam, Prague, Budapest, Cologne and Paris, with the tour finishing in Milan on 23 October.

It’s another busy run for Finn after a 2025 which saw him spend a considerable amount of time on stage.

He supported Stereophonics across their UK and European stadium tour before joining them again for their winter arena dates, played Reading & Leeds and Kendal Calling, supported Bastille at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena and joined JADE at the BBC Proms. He also squeezed in his own sold-out UK and Ireland headline tour.

But some of the most important support has come a little closer to home.

Finn received funding through the PPL Momentum Music Fund and was named a Tees Valley Artist Of The Year, giving him further backing while continuing to build his career from the region where he grew up.

For an artist from Teesside, where getting a foot into the music industry isn’t always particularly straightforward, seeing Finn taking his music from local stages to festivals, arenas and stadiums across the UK and Europe has been brilliant to watch.
