Set My Heart To Five by Simon Stephenson is a beautiful and heartwarming read that you will never forget.

Set in 2054 where humans have locked themselves out of the internet and Elon Musk has incinerated the moon, Set My Heart To Five is the hilarious yet profoundly moving story of one android’s emotional awakening.

Unhappy with his programmed job of dentistry and inspired by a love of classic movies, Jared sets out on a bold mission: to use the power of his burgeoning feelings to forever change the world for him and all his kind. Unfortunately, Jared intends to do this by writing his own movie, and things do not proceed according to plan…

Set My Heart To Five is one of the most original books we have read this year. It follows the story of Jared an android, as he discovers and feels emotions, things he should be able to feel.

It’s a very clever story, as Simon has a gift as a writer of making you feel every emotion that Jared does. The book is an emotional roller coaster ride that you will not forget. It makes you laugh out loud, it makes you cry. But ultimately it’s a beautiful and heartwarming story.

A story that you cannot help but engage your friends and loved ones in a discussion about what it means to be human, handing over a copy of the book so they too can be swept up in Jared’s story and all the references to old movies, makes this a book that must be shared.

You can get a copy of the book here.
