12 years to the day since the release of Heaven, Singer, Songwriter and music rights activist Rebecca Ferguson is releasing Heaven Part II on 5 December. It’s her first album as an independent artist.
When Heaven was released in 2011, sold over 130,000 copies in its first week, making it the fastest-selling debut album by a solo artist for the decade between 2007- 2017.
It’s Rebecca’s first album in seven years and it’s already at #6 on the iTunes Pre-Order Chart three weeks before the release.
Heaven Part II features some of the most stunning artwork we have seen in a long time, with Rebecca looking ethereal.
Rebecca connected with some of the original ‘Heaven’ writers and producers in the creation of Heaven Part II. The songs are a true reflection of Rebecca’s past 7 years – they explore love, family, joy, liberation and Rebecca’s journey to happiness.
It also highlights how Rebecca has honed her writing skills over the years and has developed a reputation within the songwriting world for being a ‘Topliner'( which means she writes the melody and lyrics for tracks that already have pre-made instrumental tracks).
Talking about Heaven Part ll in a press release Rebecca said “This new album is my first independent album – I have put everything into it. I’ve pushed myself creatively and my heart and soul has gone into this! I haven’t released an album since 2016 so this is a long time coming. I’m proud of the work, the direction of the music and the people I have collaborated with. I hope people can connect with the music.”
