Nicollette Sullivan Unveils Debut EP “Veil of Tears” – A Soulful Journey of Love, Loss, and Self-Discovery. The EP, a labor of love and introspection, marks the culmination of years of writing and development.
With its release, Nicollette introduces herself as a powerful new voice in music, offering a deeply personal and resonant experience for listeners. Her ability to blend her diverse influences into a cohesive sound is a testament to her artistry and dedication.
Nicollette’s musical journey began at home, surrounded by the sounds of her parents’ musical endeavours. Her father, the lead singer of a hard rock band, and her mother, a backup singer for various bands, immersed Nicollette in a rich tapestry of genres. From her dad, she inherited an affinity for hard rock and metal, while her mom introduced her to Soul, R&B, Classical, and Funk. This eclectic mix laid the foundation for Nicollette’s diverse musical style.
Influenced not only by the music of her parents, Nicollette’s artistic sensibilities were also shaped by classic black-and-white films and period pieces she watched with her mom and grandmother. These cinematic experiences led her to discover and draw inspiration from legendary artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Nina Simone.
Her formal journey into music began in her school choir and through performing in musicals, where she honed her vocal abilities. After high school, she committed to pursuing singing professionally, embarking on the creative process that would eventually lead to “Veil of Tears”.
