Brighton-based indie rock band Lovejoy has officially announced the release of their highly anticipated debut album. Titled One Simple Trick, the record is set to drop on 3rd October.
Formed during lockdown in 2021, Lovejoy has quickly built a dedicated global following. Known for their energetic live shows, the band has taken to the stage at major festivals, including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Lollapalooza, and Isle of Wight. Lovejoy are Will Gold (vocals), Ash Kabosu (bass), Joe Goldsmith (guitar) and Mark Boardman (drums).
The band, known for their clever lyricism and high-energy performances, made the announcement hot on the heels of their recent single With Rob As My Witness. In a typically tongue-in-cheek statement, they shared, “One Simple Trick took four years of overthinking; we are excited to underthink it from now on.”
In 2023, the band released their EP Wake Up & It’s Over, which entered the Official UK Album Chart at number 5. This followed their 2021 EP Pebble Brain, which reached number 12, and their debut EP Are You Alright?, now boasting over 500 million Spotify streams.
The announcement comes with even more good news for fans across the Atlantic: Lovejoy are heading back to North America this autumn for their first US and Canada headline tour since 2023. Kicking off in Boston on 18th October, the band will play 27 shows in total, with stops in cities including Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas, before wrapping things up in New York on 26th November.
Their last headline tour in North America made waves, selling 25,000 tickets in just two minutes. That tour came just a year after their first ever live shows in both the UK and US, which sold out in seconds and cemented Lovejoy as one of the fastest-rising indie acts of recent years.
