Rainbow Kitten Surprise have announced details of their 2026 bones UK and Ireland headline tour. The run begins on 20 May at O2 Academy Leeds and includes shows in Nottingham, Glasgow, Dublin, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester, before closing at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on 9 June.
The new album bones will be released on 26 September via Atlantic Records. Produced by Jay Joyce — who previously worked with the band on 2018’s How to: Friend, Love, Freefall — the 10-track collection reflects on themes of love, grief and resilience. The project features some of frontwoman Ela Melo’s most personal songwriting to date, alongside arrangements shaped by the band’s 13-year journey together.
On the record, the band shares, “This record is the raw unfiltered sound of Rainbow Kitten Surprise doing what we love to do. We called it bones because we were clearing skeletons out of our closet. These were both musical and interpersonal dynamics that we had to release before we could make this record what it is.”
Rainbow Kitten Surprise previewed the album last month with new single Dang, which arrived with a video inspired by Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. The track follows the release of their 2023 album LOVE HATE MUSIC BOX, which marked their first full-length in six years. That record received coverage from outlets including Billboard, Paste, Consequence and SPIN.
Momentum around their earlier work has also continued to build. It’s Called: Freefall, a track from How to: Friend, Love, Freefall, was recently featured in Ginny & Georgia and reached Number 1 on the Billboard TV Songs Chart.
