Swiss-born, London-based artist Miel De Botton has released Loved Ones: Volume 1, the first instalment of a new three-part EP series. Volumes 2 and 3 will follow in November and February 2026.
The Loved Ones project is a personal collection of songs written in tribute to the people closest to Miel — her family, friends, and those who have shaped her life. Each track explores a different connection, with stories drawn from real relationships and moments. The series continues her collaboration with producer and songwriter Andy Wright.
Musically, the EPs cover a wide range of styles including French chanson, Europop, choral arrangements, piano ballads, and spoken word. Across the songs, Miel moves between languages and genres while keeping the focus on emotional clarity and meaning.
The lead single Hit Song stands apart with its upbeat, disco-influenced sound. Originally written without a clear place in the project, Miel later recognised it as an essential part of the collection — capturing the joy, freedom and energy she wanted to express. The accompanying video features appearances from some of the loved ones who inspired the project.
The collection includes deeply personal tributes — to her childhood nanny, now 95; to her beauty therapist, a survivor of domestic abuse; and to her brother Alain, who challenged her to write a song combining his love of Genesis with Latin chanting.
Miel says “From all different areas and aspects of my life, I’m blessed to have a lot of loved ones, of course including my precious family. I wanted to honour them. But also, when I would tell my stories about the music business, recording, performing, being on stage, I could feel their interest – and sense that they wanted to join in. And I thought, wouldn’t it be amazing to create a collection of songs where they could do that?”
The release follows Miel’s previous albums Magnetic (2015) and Surrender to the Feeling (2019). She has toured internationally and performed at Camp Bestival, CarFest, and sold-out headline shows at Crazy Coqs, The Pheasantry and Dean Street Jazz Club. She has also supported Simply Red and Wet Wet Wet on tour.
Beyond music, Miel is active in philanthropy. Her song I Was Given Nature was chosen by WWF for their ‘Connect to Earth’ campaign, and she continues to support environmental, arts, and peace-building initiatives.
