The Devils Feast by Rae Devine is the third book in the Seven Gates series.

These stories are sins – brief, potent and cumulative.
Each episode is designed to be devoured in one sitting.
Seven Gates. One descent.

Decadent. Mournful. Beautifully depraved.

Midwinter settles over the club of shadows, and the Devil prepares a feast.

Lucien Vale – recruiter, collector of broken souls and reluctant conscience of Hell – is sent to secure a widow drowning in grief and the sins circling her like vultures.

Isabella Moreau would give anything for one more night with the husband she buried.

Every path leads back to Eighth Gate, domain of the Devil’s bride.

Bella Blackwood. Gatekeeper. Devourer of sin.
A woman who turns indulgence into judgment and spectacle into truth.

Bella offers the widow a bargain.

One night restored to youth.
One night with her dead husband
.

In exchange, she must deliver his secret circle of predators to a private gathering.

They arrive expecting flesh.
They become part of the spectacle instead.

At the Gates, desire is never simple. It is ritual. It is theatre. It is power made visible.

When illusion falls away, the feast begins.
And Hell delivers justice with exquisite precision.

The Devils Feast can be read as a standalone despite being part of a series. It’s a short read that packs an absolute punch both emotionally and with the intriguing plot.

It’s a book geared to adults as with all the books in the series. But Rae balances the plot and the dark erotic themes ( there are trigger warnings at the start of the book) perfectly so that the scale never tips too much in one direction, and both complement each other. This makes it such an evocative and intense read. And because it’s a novella at around 97 pages, it’s perfect to read in one sitting.
