Anne Twist has announced her second children’s book Lennie and the Mighty Oak. She is once again working with illustrator Emily Sutton. Anne began writing poems in 2017 after suffering the loss of her beloved husband. Writing helped her navigate through grief. Her garden in the countryside of Cheshire became her inspiration and brought her peace as her craft grew

Little Lennie lives in the little village of Wobbly Bottom and loves to play hide and seek with his mum. But when Mum is busy taking care of his new baby sister, Ruby, who is much too little to join in their games, Lennie wishes for someone to play with. One magical day in Acorn Hollows, his wish comes true!

Much like her first book, this one will see Anne explore common themes children face, such as coming to terms with a new baby sibling in the family.

This book will also be set in the wonderful village of Wobblybottom, which is sure to delight fans of Anne’s first book and delight new fans.

It will also see Anne partner with world-renowned children’s book artist Emily Sutton once more, who will bring Anne’s delightful world to life with her detailed and beautiful illustrations.

You can pre-order your copy of the book here. It is due for release on 10 September 2026, published via Walker Books and Candlewick Press!
