For years, the Formula 1 British Grand Prix has been one of the highlights of the sporting calendar.
Now, it’s becoming one of the biggest weekends in live entertainment too.
A record-breaking 564,000 fans headed to Silverstone across four days, with Formula 1 sharing the spotlight with a huge line-up of live music that brought festival energy to one of Britain’s most iconic sporting venues.
Opening the weekend was David Guetta, whose headline performance also marked the only UK stop on his MONOLITH world tour. Joined by futuristic visuals and a set packed with hits including Titanium and Gettin’ Over You, it was a fitting way to launch the biggest Thursday crowd in Silverstone’s history.
Across the rest of the weekend, fans were treated to headline performances from Richard Ashcroft, Chase & Status and James Arthur, while Anne-Marie, Alex James’ Britpop Classical, Jazzy and Vikkstar kept the crowds entertained long before the chequered flag.
The music didn’t stop when the racing ended either. The T1 Afterparty welcomed John Newman, Rudimental, Pendulum and MK across four late-night celebrations, giving fans another reason to stay long after the track had fallen silent.
Of course, Formula 1 remained the main attraction, but weekends like this show just how much the event has evolved. Silverstone is no longer simply hosting a Grand Prix; it’s creating an experience that stretches far beyond the racing itself.
And that’s only set to continue.
Alongside next year’s race, fans can also look forward to comedy from Jack Whitehall and Paul Chowdhry, a live darts event featuring Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Fallon Sherrock and Michael van Gerwen, plus podcasts, Q&As and family activities alongside another packed live music programme.
For anyone who’s still thinking of Silverstone as just a Formula 1 weekend, it’s probably time to think again.
