Gold Digger is a novel that will surprise you as Gillian Godden has a talent for making you fall in love with and root for them as the story progresses. Even the villains of the story who you should be really disliking, which you do, but you also feel for and understand why they are like they are and you sort of like them because you have that understanding of them.
