With a seismic and showstopping voice, larger-than-life presence, and fearless fashion sense, 17-year-old singer-songwriter Benicio Bryant has released his new single and video “I Can’t Dance To This” via Arista Records.
By unapologetically being himself, Seattle-born singer, songwriter, and producer Benicio Bryant inspires everyone else to do the same.
Talking about “I Can’t Dance This”, Benicio says “Creating everything for ‘Can’t Dance to This’ was absolutely magical. When we were writing this song, I kept thinking about a music video for it and what I wanted to wear. For me this song is powerful in a way because it’s really about confidence. To be our true self and not worry about what others think. In the song, when I say ‘watch me’, I feel like that says it all. I’m so grateful for everyone who helped put it all together, sonically and visually.”
He embodies self-expression in both the dynamic and diverse inflection of his voice and his eye-popping aesthetic. Before he could speak, he sang to his parents. Eventually, he would perform “concerts” in the living room. In between local talent shows, he ventured out to Seattle farmers markets and busked for passersby.
Obsessed with Lady Gaga, he witnessed her famous Born This Way Tour at just six-years-old with his dad. Picking up his guitar, he posted early videos to YouTube, catching the attention of The Voice Kids Germany and placing second on the show.
In the wake of his success across the pond, America’s Got Talent invited him to audition, and he reached the finals.
He landed a deal with Arista Records during 2020. He dropped his debut single “Ghosted” [feat. 12AM], tallying 1.1 million Spotify streams. He co-produced and played guitar on the follow-up “Sorry” and maintained his momentum with “Serious,” “Feels Like,” and “Who Hurt You,” defining a bold, bombastic, and buoyant signature style of his own.
