His take on ‘Pure Imagination’, from the classic film ‘Willy Wonka’, is nothing short of magical and is one of our favourites from this album.
There is one original song on the album, ‘There’s A Time,’ which, when we first listened to the album, we did not know was a song Asher had written. It fitted in with the rest so perfectly that we thought it was just a song he’d covered that we’d never heard before. It finishes the album wonderfully as it’s whimsical and nostalgic, much like the rest of the record.
Frank Arkwright mastered the album at the renowned Abbey Road Studios in London. Asher also co-produced it and collaborated with producer David Kosten to bring it all together.
Since ‘Songs of the Century’ was released in February this year, it’s garnered praise from well-known names, including Boy George, who stated, “This version of Victims retains all the youthful innocence of the original because of Asher’s sweet voice. It’s touching and delicate!” Platinum Grammy Songwriter, Producer, Remixer, and DJ Dave Audé said, “Immortality is one of my favourite songs of all time, and Asher’s silky smooth vocal is a perfect fit emotionally and sonically, and I couldn’t be more proud of this updated gem.
