Michael Blackwell Releases new track “Who Am I”. The song was recorded in several locations across London. In a process that Michael felt was far more collaborative then his previous releases as he worked with  Adam Forster, Alex Lanyon, Tim Jacobs and Callum McGuinness . It’s a song that holds a very special place in his heart.
“Who Am I” is a departure from the sounds of his last EP “A Trip Around the Sun.” Marking the start of an exciting new chapter for his music. It’s hard to believe he only started releasing his own music in 2023. He’s an artist that continues to grow and evolve with every subsequent release.
Michael started playing the guitar at age 10 and has always been a big fan of rock music, drawn to it’s energy, the rawness of the sound and the passion. He creates his music in a number of different ways. Sometimes it stems from a music chord that progresses in to a song and other times it’s a lyric that inspires him from something he’s seen or read.
“Who Am I” is a song that explores the journey of self-acceptance and personal growth. It questions whether we grow and change for the better as we age, exploring our tendency to compare ourselves to others in the age of social media, touching on overcoming challenges and addiction, and ultimately focusing on the journey to self-love.
