Glaswegian indie rockers The Rooks have just released their electrifying new single, ‘Get Up‘. Once again teaming up with GRAMMY Award-winning producer Jim Lowe (Foo Fighters, Stereophonics), the band delivers an anthemic track driven by frontman Ross Gardiner’s dynamic and commanding vocals, perfectly paired with the band’s polished musicianship.

Despite only releasing two singles last year, the rising stars are wasting no time making waves. Their tracks Lay Me Down and Renegade have already amassed nearly 50k streams on Spotify, earning them a growing fanbase.

Sharing a mutual love for bands like The Strokes and Kings of Leon, The Rooks’ story began in school, where Ross Gardiner kickstarted the band by inviting Cammy and drummer Coll to practice—in the humble setting of the school music cupboard. Bassist Kieran Luddy was originally just a fan with a ticket to their first show, but when the event was rescheduled due to the pandemic, he joined the band instead. The rest, as they say, is history.

Get Up has already become a fan favorite during live shows, sparking energetic chants and cementing its status as a future crowd-pleaser. Reflecting on the release, the band shared, “The reaction we’re seeing at home in Glasgow is cool; we’re at the beginning of this buzz around us at the moment, as people are starting to catch on. We released our first single last May and we’ve been on some good shows around the country since, but it’s nice to see the growing support.”

With Get Up now out in the world, The Rooks continue their unstoppable climb as one of Scotland’s most exciting indie rock acts. Expect more high-energy tracks and unforgettable live moments from this fast-rising band.
