Louis Tomlinson is returning to the stage for a one-night-only show at Electric Brixton on March 6th, and it’s all for a fantastic cause supporting Music Venue Trust.
The chart-topping singer and 28 Clothing CEO revealed that the intimate gig will support Music Venue Trust (MVT)—a UK charity dedicated to protecting and improving Grassroots Music Venues.
“It’s been far too long since I last played a special show for you all… So on Thursday 6th March, I’ll be playing at Electric Brixton in London for a one-off warm-up show in support of Music Venue Trust. I can’t wait to be back on stage again, and at the same time knowing we’re supporting grassroots music venues. It’s gonna be a good one!” — Louis Tomlinson
Why This Show Matters
Grassroots venues are the lifeblood of the UK’s music industry, giving rising artists a platform to showcase their talent and build their fanbase. However, these venues have faced massive challenges, from rising costs and gentrification to the long-lasting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is where Music Venue Trust (MVT) comes in! Founded in 2014, MVT works to protect, sustain, and promote these spaces so that future generations of artists—like Ed Sheeran and Arctic Monkeys, who started out in grassroots venues—can continue to thrive. At the recent BRIT awards , award winner Myles Smith, asked the government to support grassroots venues “If British music is one of the most powerful exports we have, why have you treated it like an after thought for so many years?” He told labels: “moments fade but careers last forever.”
How Louis is Giving Back
✔ A portion of the concert’s proceeds will be donated to MVT
✔ Louis will personally donate to the charity
✔ The show will raise awareness for grassroots music venues across the UK
