Acclaimed musician Calum Hood is officially stepping into the spotlight with the announcement of his debut solo album, ORDER chaos ORDER, arriving June 13 via Island EMI.
After 14 years as one fourth of global pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer, Calum Hood’s solo debut marks a bold new chapter—one that leans into introspective storytelling and emotional depth. The first single, “Don’t Forget You Love Me,” is a haunting and heartfelt introduction to the world of ORDER chaos ORDER. Written and produced by TMS and Jack LaFrantz, the track explores themes of heartbreak, self-worth, and vulnerability, paired with a moody, cinematic music video directed by Andy DeLuca.
Calum describes the creative process as a journey between extremes: “This album was made in a tumble dryer of knowing and not knowing. I started out with a vision—order—but quickly became overwhelmed by the process—chaos. Eventually, I learned to embrace both.”
The album, created primarily with Jackson Phillips (Day Wave), also features contributions from David Burris (Lauren Spencer Smith, ITZY) and TMS (Lewis Capaldi, Ed Sheeran). The result is a raw, emotionally rich indie sound that highlights Calum’s strength as both a musician and lyricist. ORDER chaos ORDER reveals a more personal side, touching on his upbringing, family, and the journey of moving forward through pain.
“There are things I’ve never been able to sing about in the band—my upbringing, my family, the places life has taken me. This album is about laying those things to rest and allowing listeners to connect in their own way.”
For longtime fans and new listeners alike, ORDER chaos ORDER signals the arrival of a solo artist ready to tell his own story—with clarity, depth, and unfiltered honesty.
