Dean Lewis has released The Epilogue (Deluxe)—a five-track expansion of his 2023 album that already delivered streaming hits like Trust Me Mate, Memories, and Empire. The deluxe version includes a cover of Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls (a consistent fan favourite on tour), as well as With You, which has now surpassed 113 million global streams.
The centrepiece of the new tracks is Hurt So Bad, which Dean describes as the final chapter in a trilogy that started with Be Alright and continued with Hurtless. According to him, “Be Alright, Hurtless and Hurt So Bad – the three songs in the trilogy. The song is about loving someone so much and losing yourself in the process, giving everything you have and them just disappearing out of your life and dealing with the aftermath of that.” ‘ The official video—shot in Malibu Creek State Park by Dean’s brother and creative director Sean Loaney—was released alongside the track.
Also included are Truth and I Hate That It’s True, both new additions that continue the reflective tone of the original release. These five songs round out a project that, across both versions, has now collected more than 575 million streams globally.
Since his debut in 2017, Dean has passed 13 billion total streams and collected multiple platinum and gold certifications across Australia, Europe, and the US. His first album, A Place We Knew, included breakout singles Waves and Be Alright, the latter joining the Spotify Billions Club. He’s also collaborated with artists including Kygo, Martin Garrix, Tiësto, Ruth B., and Julia Michaels.
Dean has picked up three ARIA Awards and seven APRA Awards, toured with James Arthur and AJR, and built a combined social media following of nearly seven million. His live shows frequently sell out, with fans often requesting unreleased or acoustic-only tracks—like Iris, which now appears officially for the first time on this deluxe edition.
The expanded Epilogue closes a chapter for Dean, pairing fan-favourite singles with new material that’s already gaining traction across streaming platforms. Hurt So Bad marks the final link in a multi-year storyline, giving longtime listeners a clear sense of closure.
