Scottish singer-songwriter Blair Davie has released a new single, Crashing The Car, via Giant Music. The track offers a quiet, stripped-back sound that places the focus firmly on lyrics and melody, with gentle acoustic guitar providing the only accompaniment.

Crashing The Car explores the feeling of falling in love as both a thrill and a risk. Its tone is reflective and open, balancing emotional honesty with restraint. Blair describes the track as a simple expression of what it means to let someone in — not just the rush, but the quiet surrender that comes with it.

Speaking on the new single, Blair explains, “‘Crashing The Car’ is a portrayal of love as both a beautiful thrill and a surrender. It’s about unconditional love and the acceptance of fate. Even if we don’t make it, it’s all worth it.”

They continue, “It’s not about the car crashing as such but more that if it did, what a way to go out in the world – next to the person you’ve fallen in love with.”

The new single follows two recent releases: Wouldn’t Be Right, an upbeat track about staying hopeful through hard times, and Butterflies, a ballad that looks at love in its most lasting form. Together, the three singles mark Blair’s most personal and self-assured material to date.

Blair has spent the last year building momentum, recently completing the Butterflies Tour — their biggest headline run so far — with shows across the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Scotland. Alongside touring, they were named Amazon Music’s UK Rising Star and received an Ivor Novello Award nomination, both before turning 24.

Based in London but born and raised in Scotland, Blair has released a steady stream of singles that first caught attention for their clarity and emotion. Early tracks like Stairs, Platform 10, and Him, Hymn were praised for their lyrical honesty and live performance strength. As a writer and performer since their teens, Blair brings years of experience to each new release, often focusing on direct, emotionally grounded storytelling.

Blair has been officially playlisted by Spotify, and supported artists including JP Cooper, Emeli Sandé, Sam Fischer and Fatherson. Festival appearances include The Great Escape, Live at Leeds, Belladrum, and Sziget, as well as being a featured act at Zermatt Unplugged. Recent headline shows at London’s Laylow and Slaughtered Lamb both sold out.
