The first casting announcement for The Hunger Games: On Stage has been made. Mia Carragher will play the role of Katniss Everdeen in the world premiere production, which opens at the brand new Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre in London on 20 October 2025.

Mia graduated from Tring Park School for the Performing Arts in 2022 and trained at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Her screen credits include the independent feature One Night in Istanbul, The Gathering for Channel 4, and upcoming appearances in the Playground Entertainment series Maigret and the feature film Let’s Love. This marks her professional stage debut.

Adapted by Olivier Award-winning playwright Conor McPherson (Girl from the North Country, The Weir) and directed by Matthew Dunster (2:22 – A Ghost Story, The Pillowman), The Hunger Games: On Stage is the first official stage adaptation of Suzanne Collins’s bestselling novel and Lionsgate’s hit film series.

The production will take place in the 1,200-seat Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre — a purpose-built, in-the-round venue created specifically for this show. Originally proposed in 2024, the venue offers state-of-the-art facilities and is located in East London.

The creative team includes set designer Miriam Buether, costume designer Moi Tran, choreographer Charlotte Broom, lighting designer Lucy Carter, sound designer Ian Dickinson for Autograph, and video designer Tal Rosner. Illusions will be led by Chris Fisher, with fight direction by Kev McCurdy and performer flying by John Maddox for Suspended Illusions. Music and additional composition come from James Maloney, with casting by Amy Ball.

The Hunger Games: On Stage is produced by Tristan Baker and Charlie Parsons for Runaway Entertainment, Oliver Royds for BOS Productions, and Isobel David, in association with Lionsgate.

Tickets are on sale now via the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre website.
