The Colletta Cassettes is the latest release from author Bruno Noble. Bruno studied Philosophy and French literature at Southampton University. Acircuitous route selling advertising space in financial magazines took him to the City, where, amongstother things, he wrote markets and investment reports while impatient to write a novel. Meanwhile, Peter’s eldest son, sixteen-year-old Sebastian, finds his own trouble with a spirited chambermaid named Rosetta. Caught between the adrenaline of first love and the sting of his mother’s disapproval, Sebastian redirects his attention to a third – and more suspicious – figure.
As the tapes become more incriminating, watchful eyes begin to close in.
The Colletta Cassettes is a fantastic thriller. It’s a fictional retelling of Operation Gladio, a real terrorist conspiracy funded by the CIA. Set in the heat of an Italian summer, it’s a fantastically crafted novel which is full of tension and atmosphere, but is offset with romance and just unfolds so well that it never feels heavy.
If you like thrillers and stories that have real-life resonance as they are based on events that actually happened, then this ticks all the boxes.
