Natalie McCool has unveiled her latest single, We’re The Ones, offering another glimpse of her upcoming album Good For The Soul, due for release on 9 September.

Following recent tracks Coming Of Age and I Fantasise, the new single continues to showcase an artist who isn’t afraid to push her sound in new directions. We’re The Ones balances shimmering, stripped-back verses with soaring bursts of alt-pop, while lyrically capturing that feeling of standing on the edge of adulthood – embracing the freedom of the present while knowing life won’t stay the same forever.

Natalie once again takes the lead behind the scenes too, writing, producing, recording and mixing much of the album herself. Additional production on We’re The Ones comes from Andy Hall Hall, with drums performed by Rhys Jiang.

If the songs released so far are anything to go by, Good For The Soul looks set to be Natalie’s most personal and adventurous record to date. Moving between moments of joy, uncertainty and reflection, the album promises to celebrate life’s highs while never shying away from its more difficult moments.

Originally from Widnes and now based in Liverpool, Natalie has quietly built an impressive career over the years. From receiving a one-to-one songwriting masterclass with Paul McCartney while studying at LIPA to winning a songwriting competition judged by Chris Martin, she’s continued to carve out her own path as both a songwriter and producer.

Natalie says, “‘We’re The Ones’ is a euphoric, expansive track that celebrates youthful optimism in the face of monotonous adulthood, holding onto the vivid imagination and sense of ‘wilderness’ that comes so easily in youth.”

Fans won’t have long to wait to hear the new material live either. Natalie will celebrate the album’s release with launch shows at Liverpool’s Kazimier Stockroom on 9 October and London’s Sebright Arms the following evening, alongside appearances at Henley Festival, St. Michael’s Sessions and DevaFest this summer.

We’re The Ones feels like the kind of song that’s impossible to squeeze neatly into one genre – and that’s exactly what makes it such an intriguing introduction to Good For The Soul. If the album continues in the same vein, September could be well worth the wait.

Limited tickets for both gigs are available HERE.
