With the third season of Netflix’s Nobody Wants This arriving on 22 October, Atlantic Records has revealed the soundtrack for the new series, and there are some pretty big names involved.
Miley Cyrus, Maisie Peters, Ellie Goulding, Megan Moroney, Mimi Webb and J Balvin are among the artists contributing new music to the soundtrack, which will be released on 23 October, just one day after the series returns.
The album features previously unreleased recordings created specifically for the show, including two tracks from Miley Cyrus, Cold Blooded and You (Demo).
There’s also a collaboration between Stella Lefty and Bailey Zimmerman titled My Kinda Love, alongside new songs from Jessie Murph, Ravyn Lenae, Noga Erez, Metric and several other artists.
And if you’ve watched the first two seasons, you’ll already know how important music has become to Nobody Wants This.
Since arriving on Netflix in 2024, the romantic comedy starring Kristen Bell as Joanne and Adam Brody as Noah has become a huge success, with viewers following the couple’s relationship through its many complications.
The show has also introduced audiences to plenty of music along the way.
Previous soundtracks have featured artists including Selena Gomez, Kacey Musgraves, FINNEAS, Gracie Abrams, HAIM and Hailee Steinfeld, with several songs enjoying a significant increase in streams after appearing in the series.
Francis and the Lights’ See Her Out (That’s Just Life), for example, saw its US streams increase by more than 3,000% following its inclusion in the first season.
It’s a good reminder of just how much a well-placed song in a television series can do for an artist, particularly when viewers go looking for the music after watching an episode.
For season three, Atlantic Records has brought together a mixture of established names and newer artists, with the soundtrack also featuring an original score suite from composer Duncan Blickenstaff.
The album has been produced by Simon Tikhman, Jeff Levin, Chief Zaruk and Ian Cripps, while music supervision for the new season has been handled by Manish Raval, Tom Wolfe and Jonathan Leahy.
The full tracklist also reveals a few interesting pairings, particularly Stella Lefty and Bailey Zimmerman, while Maisie Peters contributes a new song titled Hands On Me and Ellie Goulding appears with Pray For Me.
With the series returning in just a few days, it won’t be long before we get to hear how these songs fit into Joanne and Noah’s story.
