In Silver Linings she opens up and is extremely candid about her experiences including supporting her alcoholic father, losing her 13-month-old nephew to meningitis while in her care, Jess’s mum’s sudden blindness, being betrayed by her ex-husband, and mental health issues including depression and anxiety.
Sometimes it’s not easy read because of the themes discussed within the book, but this is Jess’s story it’s a powerful tribute to those who have been there for her, something that she can look back on and be so proud of all that she’s overcome and achieved.
It showcases her fighting spirit and her desire to be kind to everyone she meets. Ultimately Silver Linings is heartfelt, inspirational and honest read that could potentially empower many readers that they too can get past the hardships and live life to the fullest doing what they love.
