‘Does a Fish Know its Wet?’ is the sophomore EP from Peach Tree Rascals. It’s fun and full of life, the perfect summer soundtrack.
Peach Tree Rascals are a collective, dedicated to collaboration and community. They are a brotherhood, coming together to be more than the sum of their parts. Comprised of producer/mixer Dominic “Dom” Pizano, rappers-singers Issac Pech, Tarrek Abdel-Khaliq, Joseph Barros, and creative director Jorge Olazaba, the group started as a teenage “do-it-yourself” attempt at music, based out of a shed in San Jose, California.
they quickly realised a deep, natural connection with one another, and grew into a single, harmonious unit.
As the band grew, they added Jasper Barros, the mastermind behind some of the guitar tracks on their biggest hits and EJ Atienza, Jorge‘s right-hand man assisting him with all things creative. 16 songs and a debut EP later, the group has accumulated over 300M streams and have received certified gold for their track, “Mariposa,” which also reached #1 on the Alternative Radio Chart in the US.
Peach Tree Rascals have stayed true to the DIY mentality they had when they first started working together.
The band have had a very busy summer so far. “We’ve just come off doing some shows back to back in Belgium, Finland, Sweden and France’. They tell us. The day we speak to them they are gearing up for a sell-out headline show at the Omeara in London.
“We had to postpone a lot of stuff because of Covid. Chicago was our first live show. “Says Isaac“, We did three shows in 16 hours. We did our first headline show at midnight, then we did our first festival which was Lollapalooza. Main stage with like 15. maybe 20,000 people, danced to our songs even though most of them didn’t know who we were.”
The band’s track ‘Mariposa is now a firm staple in the band’s live shows after it went viral on the social media platform Tik-Tok.
The name for their latest EP ‘Does a Fish Know its Wet?’ is a metaphor for how they see themselves in the industry. “A small fish in a big sea”.
“DOES A FISH KNOW IT’S WET?” EP TRACKLIST:

“‘Does a Fish Know its Wet’ is a reminder of where we started in a shed in Dom’s back yard, just us making music, it was inhouse everything and once Mariposa started to happen, it’s when you know we got the record label, management, we have tour management. ” Says Tarrek “You know we have all this outside influence and a whole business behind us. So once you have a song as good as Mariposa, the business side of things becomes like you need to try and get another song like Mariposa, another song at that level… So this us trying to take our sound and make the biggest songs we can possibly make, and the songs that could reach the widest audience.”
“We want to do it in our own way” The band agree, ‘ So that’s why it’s pop music but we call it Rascal Pop Music because we are doing it on our own terms.“
