Ben Barnes is a name many most commonly associate with his acting career with roles in Chronicles of Narnia, The Punisher and Westworld, to name a few. But now Ben is gearing up to release his debut solo album ‘Where The Light Gets In’.
Releasing music has been a long-held dream for Ben, one he began to realise in October 2021 with the release of his “Songs for You” EP. He then followed in the footsteps of Elton John, Adele and many more established artists and performed at the Hotel Cafe in LA. For his debut show highlights just what a talent Ben is as a musical artist.
‘Where The Light Gets In’ was inspired by the soul and pop music Ben loves so much, the album is about the different stages of a relationship; beginnings, tension, sorrow, sex, love, endings, nostalgia. It’s about how our history and our scars configure to make us who we are in this moment. If a part of us has ever felt broken, we can mend…transforming ourselves into something more precious than we were before ….‘the cracks are where the light gets in’.
The album was recorded with the band(including James Valentine and Sam Farrar, who also produced the record, along with drummer/manager Paul Hamilton.) all in one room at Apogee Studios in Santa Monica.
To celebrate the release of ‘Where The Light Gets In’ Ben will embark on a tour of the US before coming to the UK and Europe in February.
