James Hype is back with his new single “Don’t Wake Me Up,” released just in time for the summer as his joint club concept with MEDUZA, Our House, returns to Hï Ibiza for a residency running from June to September.
This marks a full-circle moment for James, who, at 18, left his job at Marks & Spencer to pursue his dreams in Ibiza with only €100. After a night at Space, he called in sick from a bench in Talamanca. Fast forward to 2025, and he’s now a resident DJ at Hï Ibiza, solidifying his place in the island’s vibrant scene. “Don’t Wake Me Up” is described as a soaring anthem featuring massive synths and ethereal vocals, designed to elevate ravers to new heights. James reflects, “This is the song I’ve been trying to write for almost 10 years… it feels like an evolution of all my music.”
The release follows a series of significant events for Hype, including the revival of his popular live streams launched during lockdown. In February, he engaged fans with high-energy DJ sets on YouTube every Friday. This summer, the Our House concept has moved from the Club Room to the Theatre at Hï Ibiza, promising an electrifying experience for attendees.
With more major releases and UK headline shows on the horizon, 2025 is shaping up to be a monumental year for James. Known for his impressive performances at iconic venues like Ushuaïa Ibiza and The Brooklyn Mirage, he’s become a top-tier DJ with over 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Hits like “More Than Friends” and “Ferrari” have solidified his legacy, with “Ferrari” surpassing 2 billion streams and achieving platinum status worldwide. Additionally, he launched his label Stereohype in 2020, promoting emerging electronic artists, and partnered with Tomorrowland Academy to deliver masterclasses for aspiring DJs and producers. As he gears up for an exciting year ahead, there will be no sleeping on what’s to come.
