Following her recent run of international tour dates with Jamie Miller, English-born, Los Angeles-based artist Maisy Kay returns with new music and the announcement of her upcoming headline tour. Her new single Somebody You Never Touched is out now, offering a confident, high-energy track that blends bright production with a sharp lyrical perspective.
The song was written solely by Maisy and produced, mixed and mastered by Mike Avenaim (Bebe Rexha, Bea Miller, Lil Nas X). While the track has a vibrant, upbeat feel, its lyrics are rooted in reflection. It explores the idea of emotional and physical renewal after the end of a relationship. The line “seven years” refers to the common belief that every cell in the human body regenerates within that time — suggesting the person you were then no longer exists.
Maisy explains, “Somebody You Never Touched is based on the concept that every seven years, your skin cells completely renew, so in theory, you could be a completely different person — or someone your ex never touched. It’s a fun song about renewal and transformation, about moving on both mentally and physically.”
The new single follows the release of her two-part Wonderlust EP, The Dusk and The Dawn. Maisy’s sound brings together nostalgic pop and dance elements within a contemporary framework, appealing to fans of artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Dua Lipa and Chappell Roan.
Her career so far includes high-profile collaborations with Timbaland, Tiësto, R3HAB, Rodney “Darkchild” Jenkins and TheFatRat, with whom she released The Storm — a track that generated over 40 million streams and 320 million video views. She also hit #1 on Spotify Japan with Distance, a collaboration with J-pop star Anly that featured Japanese-language lyrics performed by Maisy herself.
Known for blending catchy melodies with conceptual ideas, Maisy has previously used the Na’vi language from Avatar in her song The Beast Within. Her recent tour with Jamie Miller followed earlier support slots for JVKE and Tori Kelly. She is currently back in the UK for writing sessions ahead of her next round of releases.
Maisy’s headline tour kicks off in Los Angeles on September 18th, with more dates to follow. Speaking about the upcoming shows, she says, “This show — nay, experience — will be nothing like I’ve ever done before.”
