It’s Anne Twist birthday. Anne is the amazing Mum to both Gemma and Harry Styles. She’s rightly incredibly proud of her kids and everything they have both achieved.
She’s also a source of inspiration and positivity for countless One Direction and Harry Styles fans across the world. Anne is a huge advocate for using her platform to promote causes she’s passionate about and making a difference to others.
From climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to being strapped to a plane for a wing walk. Anne Twist has done it all in the name of charity.
It’s not hard to see with a heart as big as Anne’s where both Gemma and Harry get their passion and drive from for using their own platforms to inspire and create change within the world. We could all learn a lot from Anne and her children.
To celebrate her birthday we’d thought we’d take a look at some of the things Anne has done to support various charities and causes.
Anti Bullying Pro
Anne is a huge advocate for treating people with kindness and regularly shows support for various anti bullying campaigns. She tweeted support for Anti Bullying Pro‘s Back to School campaign. Encouraging others to talk and be kind to each other at school.

Action Against Cancer
Action Against Cancer funds the development of cures for cancer at Imperial College, Hammersmith Hospital, led by world-renowned oncologist, Professor Justin Stebbing. The ground-breaking programs that we fund focus on developing new diagnostics and treatments to improve the survival prospects and quality of life for millions of cancer sufferers worldwide.’
This is an organisation that is close to Anne’s heart, she supported it with her late husband Robin by doing a sponsored walk around Knowsley Safari Park.
Jeans for Genes
Anne annually supports Jeans for Gene‘s campaign, modelling and promoting the campaigns latest t-shirt. Money raised on @jeans_for_genes Day transform the lives of the in the 1 in 25 children in the UK affected by a life-altering genetic disorder.
Lotus Flower
Anne supported the Lotus Flower by posting a love letter to herself on Insta. The campaign which was created by the Lotus Flower aimed to get people to be proud of and who love who they are. The Lotus Flower which was set up to support women and girls affected by conflicts across the world.
Macmillan Cancer
Anne has supported Macmillan Cancer for many years, she regularly takes part in the coffee mornings and other events they hold and has helped to raise a significant amount of awareness and funds for the cancer charity,which supports those diagnosed with cancer and the families get the support and care they need.
Parkinsons UK
Parkinsons UK is a charity and organisation that Anne is extremely passionate and dedicated to supporting, as her dad Brian was diagnosed with the condition.
Anne lends her voice to Parkinson’s UK regularly and often raises money and awareness to help those those with disease. She recently along with her friend Sandra Meighan did a wing walk, raising over £11,000 for the organisation.
Refuge Charity
Anne supported Refuge by raising awareness of the charities “Hush No More” campaign which involved the release of limited edition sleepwear to raise awareness and funds to help women and children who have suffered abuse. The campaign’s aim was to donate a night in a refuge for women and their children for every pair sold. Anne and her friend Louise Burcham modelled the sleep wear on Anne’s Insta.
