Louis Tomlinson fans are, as we’ve often said a passionate bunch and can pretty much do anything they put their collective minds to. The latest project they have undertaken is pretty huge and has the potential to help many fellow Louies. They have created their own Twitter school, “School for Louies“. Designed to help other fans who are struggling with schoolwork or maybe just want to learn something new.
School for Louies is a series of Twitter accounts all linked together, each specialises in a different subject area from languages, science and maths, to psychology and business. Each account is run by a team of Louies who will answer questions or give hints and tips on their specific subject. All you have to do is tweet or DM them.
The idea was started by the admins of the Maths account, then came an English account and the whole idea just grew from there. With the @louieschool being created in March this year to link to the #LOUNIVERSITY hashtag so fans were aware of which accounts were part of the rapidly growing network. The project has over 170 volunteer admin overseeing the various subject accounts, many of whom are admin for more than one account. So this a huge and extremely well thought out project.
There is currently 47 subjects currently available including:
Maths or their back up account
Science (physics, chemistry, biology)
There are also other accounts that allow you to learn what is going on in the world, find a new recipe to bake/cook and even a book club.
School for Louies is the best virtual school we have ever seen. It’s a school that has it all and if it doesn’t have a class you want it could likely be added in the future if you ask. What we love about it is, it’s entirely fan-run. It’s a group of Louis Tomlinson fans who love him but are coming together to do something positive and help other fans.
It transcends the love of an artist and their music. This is people reaching out and helping others. Realising that their community, their fandom is a hugely diverse and special place. With many like-minded people who are keen to help each other and expand their knowledge and with School for Louies fans can do just that. They can learn new skills, like a language , learn about other cultures. Share their hobbies and passions with each other. It’s another reminder of how powerful fandoms are when they come together with a common purpose.
Over the years Louies have joined together to do many projects to boost Louis but this, this is their most ambitious project to date. As it’s not about Louis, it’s about helping each other. Something that Louis has always done, he’s used his platform to help others, and now his fans are doing the same and it’s something both Louis and his fans should be extremely proud of. That they have such a strong and kind community that helps everyone in it as well as fans from other fandoms.
