V and A Museum to launch an exhibition featuring Harry Styles and fashion designer Harris Reed

The V and A museum in London are launching an exciting new exhibition, which will feature, Gucci, Harry Styles and fashion designer Harris Reed.

The new exhibition “Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswearwill explore how designers, tailors and artists – and their clients and sitters – have constructed and performed masculinity, and unpicked it at the seams.” “At a moment of unprecedented creativity in men’s fashion and reflection on gender.” The new exhibition follows previous collections that have featured notable fashion icons including Alexander McQueen, David Bowie and Viviene Westwood.

Harry Styles is featured on the promotional photo on the museum’s website which is a great example of the above. The photo being used by the V and A to promote the new exhibition is taken from the Gucci Pre-Fall 2019 Men’s Tailoring Campaign. Which was created by Creative Director: Alessandro Michele. Art Director: Christopher Simmonds. And was photographed and directed by Harmony Korine.

Gucci has previously worked on campaigns with both Harry and designer Harris Reed who designed garments that Harry wore numerous times while performing on tour. After Harry was introduced to Harris by his stylist Harry Lambert. Harris has posted about the new V and A exhibition on his Insta account.

Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear will open at the V and A on Saturday 19 March 2022. The exhibition will be hosted in The Sainsbury Gallery, a  1,100 square metre column-free space which is one of the largest temporary exhibition spaces in the UK.
