Gemma Styles has announced her debut book “Why Am I Like This?” Will be released in September via Penguin.

“Why Am I Like This “ will see Gemma explore the feelings of not fitting in and will draw on her own experiences with mental health and neuro divergence.

Why do I feel so overwhelmed? Why did I say that embarrassing thing? Is everyone else achieving more than me? What can I actually do to make a difference? Am I the only one feeling this way?

n the face of unprecedented levels of loneliness, burnout and insecurity, she explores how we can start to feel more hopeful, connected and at peace with ourselves and each other.

Referencing the insight of experts and brand new research, Why am I like this? shows that by harnessing the power of curiosity and compassion, we can start to feel more hopeful, connected and at peace with ourselves.

Talking about the book in a press release Gemma says “I’ve always been curious to learn more about how our minds work and why so many of us seem to get tripped up by the same things. It’s been therapeutic to explore those questions in more detail while writing Why am I like this? and I hope plenty of readers will be able to relate to feelings of self-doubt or frustration. It’s reassuring to find there are explanations for many things we experience day to day and that giving ourselves a break could help us have more compassion for each other too.”

Over the years Gemma has become a trusted voice online and someone we have featured a lot on the site with her award winning podcast Good Influence and as  MQMentalHealth  ambassador which she has raised awareness and money for over the years with her range of sunglasses.

You can pre-order a copy of the book here it will be released on 12 September 2024!
